Congratulations to all our entrants this year. It was another glorious day to enjoy the beautiful surrounds of Beechworth.
We would like to thank our major sponsor, Bendigo Bank- Beechworth Community Bank , for once again supporting our event. We also have tremendous support from local businesses who donate cash and prizes for Age Group winners and “Spot Prizes” on the day.
We had more entrants this year then ever with 732 and we raised just over $10,000 between 6am and 10.00am. Not a bad morning’s work! These funds go towards school grounds projects which will benefit the students by creating a united “whole school” outdoor shade space to enjoy.
Last but NOT least, an enormous thankyou to our band of helpers. Those who walked the streets visiting local businesses for prizes, the early morning set up team, our on the day helpers who smiled and welcomed and shared the “Fun” vibe of the day. Our Traffic Controllers who put themselves on the line! And course marshall’s who enjoyed a few pleasant hours either on the golf course or around the town directing runners, to our Water Station teams, awesome work, our sag wagon cyclist and our wonderful SRC students who cooked up a storm.
THANK YOU ALL

On-Line Entries are CLOSED for the 2016 Fun Run.
The Beechworth Fun Run is growing each year as word gets out about what a great event it is. More than 660 participants enjoyed the Beechworth Fun Run last year. Online
registrations via the Beechworth Fun Run website or on the day.
So what makes our run so popular? The 10km event is a very scenic and diverse route through the wonderful bushland gorge, the streets of Beechworth historic town, past Lake
Sambell and finally through the golf course. All this is on mostly bitumen, a small bit of flat gravel and tracks through the golf course. The course is a good challenge for very experienced runners
but also just a lovely walk for those who are not so fit. The event is also part of the North East Runners Series.
The 3km run sees people who are starting out on their fitness climb, lots of families, prams and dogs participating. The Beechworth Gold Easter Fun Run/Walk has been recognised
by ‘Run 4 Your Life’ Magazine as the ‘Most Family Friendly’ Run & as one of their ‘Must Do’ runs.
The autumn weather just begs you to be out enjoying the outdoors and it’s the start of a long weekend that can then be spent discovering all that Beechworth has to offer.
The event, held on Easter Saturday each year, is run by the Beechworth Secondary College as their major fundraiser and is part of the town’s Golden Horseshoe Festival.
We attract around 660 participants from all ages and fitness levels. Due to the rapid growth of the event we have appointed a timing company to provide bibs with electronic
timing chips to ensure accurate times and results on-line.
The event is on Easter Saturday, each year, with the race starting at 9am from the Beechworth Secondary College in Balaclava Road. (opposite the Cemetery)
Registrations will be accepted on the day from 7.00am to 8.30am. We encourage all participants to register early to take advantage of the reduced entry fees.
There will be a BBQ breakfast and coffee van available also from 7.30am.
The Easter fun run has been a significant part of the Golden Horseshoe Festival for many years. Since
2007 it has been organized by the Parents Network of the Beechworth Secondary College and has attracted
participants from all over Victoria and NSW. It is held in high esteem by dedicated runners and social runners
and walkers of all ages. The 10km course provides a challenging run through the gorge area while the 3km
course gives the opportunity for children, families and the ‘less fit’ to walk and run around this beautiful town.
